In 2012, IITA underwent a major transition in its management and organization of research programs. This was Dr Nteranya Sanginga’s first full year as Director General and during the year he hired a new senior management team: Dr Kenton Dashiell, Deputy Director General (DDG) Partnerships and Capacity Development, Dr Ylva Hillbur, DDG Research for Development, and Mr Kwame Akuffo-Akoto, DDG Corporate Services.
